Designed to produce skilled workers who are fully compitent in all aspects of chosen construction trades; an apprenticeship is a system of employment training that combines supervised, on-the-job training with formal technical instruction. Apprenticeship partners include the Kansas Registered Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter’s District Council, the United Association of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters, and the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

On-the-Job Training and Registered Apprenticeship is a proven training program that:

Combines structured on-the-job training with related technical instruction

Provides full-time paid work experience

requires a commitment of approximately one to five years

Must be at least 18 years of age and provide a copy of birth certificate

Must provide a copy of high school diploma or GED and a copy of birth certificate

Must certify ability to learn through a basic skills test

Must provide proof of being drug free

Receive pay while becoming skilled in a trade

Full-time employment with “built-in” career placement
