Are you ready to build the skills needed for a HIGH WAGE career? Paid on-the-job training or a construction apprenticeship may be the answer for you!

Designed to produce skilled workers who are fully compitent in all aspects of chosen construction trades; an apprenticeship is a system of employment training that combines supervised, on-the-job training with formal technical instruction.  Apprenticeship partners include the Kansas Registered Apprenticeship Program, Carpenter’s District Council, the United Association of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters, and the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

If you are interested in entering the contruction field, or are currently employed in the constrution trades, and would like to recieve further training; click on the links above or use the Workforce Centers and Contractor List to help locate an employer.

On-the-Job Training and Registered Apprenticeship is a proven training program that:

  • Combines structured on-the-job training with related technical instruction

  • Provides full-time paid work experience

  • requires a commitment of approximately one to five years

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and provide a copy of birth certificate

  • Must provide a copy of high school diploma or GED and a copy of birth certificate

  • Must certify ability to learn through a basic skills test

  • Must provide proof of being drug free

Benefits to the On-the-Job Trainee or Registered Apprentice:

  • Receive pay while becoming skilled in a trade

  • Full-time employment with “built-in” career placement

  • Low/no cost supervised training
